🎙️ Radio Session at Jamii FM: The Role of Parents in Preventing Child Abuse
Date: October 7, 2025
Location: Jamii FM Radio Station, Mtwara
Today, the Tanzania Safety Alliance (TASA) team had the privilege of joining a live radio session at Jamii FM, where we held an impactful discussion on the role of parents in preventing child abuse. The conversation aimed to raise awareness, strengthen parental responsibility, and encourage open dialogue within families to protect children from all forms of violence and exploitation.
During the session, our speakers emphasized that child protection begins at home — through love, communication, guidance, and trust. Parents and guardians play a crucial role in creating safe spaces for their children, recognizing early warning signs of abuse, and teaching them their rights and boundaries.
Listeners were actively engaged, sharing experiences and ideas on how communities can unite to prevent abuse and support victims. The discussion also highlighted the importance of education, early reporting, and collaboration between parents, schools, and local authorities.
At Tanzania Safety Alliance (TASA), we remain committed to promoting child safety, gender equality, and human rights across all communities in Tanzania. Together, we can build a nation where every child grows free from fear and harm.
